Welcome to UGCS. You don't have new mail. Your last login was yesterday at 10:53 PM on retch from host-66-81-247-240.rev.o1.com. Tip: Do you yearn for the trusty old computers of yore? We have emulators for the TRS-80 ("xtrs") and Atari 8-bit ("atari -b") computers available. -- Google Pizza Ambassador Needed (Wei-Hwa Huang) today at 03:24 PM ----------- Google is looking for a fun, motivated Techer who'd be interested in providing PIZZA to late night CS folks. Essentially, this person would be looking out for good opportunities and the best venues to feed hungry CS students who are working on projects or in the labs late at night and would appreciate hot pizza delivered at their doorstep for free! The "ambassador" would be responsible for ordering the pizza on Google's dime. Google will be providing the "ambassador" American Express Gift certificates/checks so that they will be at liberty to order pizza when appropriate. Why is Google doing this? Because they want to get "good will". Google has over 200 engineers here who clearly remember what it was like to be a hard-working CS student, pulling all-nighters and working diligently to meet a deadline for finish a project. They all know how awesome it would've been if someone arrived with pizza with their name on it! In typical Google fashion, we like to feed and nourish those hungry bellies and brain cells and say, "Good Luck and Keep Up The Great Work!" (I didn't actually come up with that; it was just ad copy.) Bottom line..we want to feed and clothe CS students. :-) We want this program to be as spontaneous and informal as possible. If you're interested, please send me (***@ugcs) an e-mail and I'll forward it to Charlene Wong, Google's college recuiter who is spearheading this program.
