The time for the annual fireworks ceremony was coming soon. For Diamondhead, this was the busiest time of the year. As usual, Hiromi was roaming all over the place, working. Kaito had invited Sakura. But instead, two of Sakura's friends came. They also used to work in the same company as Kaito. They told Kaito that Sakura was thinking about coming but thought that it would be too painful that she couldn't go back to Tokyo with Kaito. Her two friends told Kaito to think about the situation once more, and to think about Sakura. Since Makoto had work to do, she couldn't wear a yukata (A yukata is a summer cotton kimono worn by the Japanese during festivals, celebrations, etc.) like her friend, Yuko. She was envious but since she was Masaru's daughter, she couldn't help it. Makoto really wanted to wear a yukata but told everyone that it didn't mean much to her. Haruko found out that Makoto didn't have a yukata and took out her yukata that she hadn't worn in a long time. Everyday, she would be sewing the yukata to fit Makoto but she kept it a secret. But right after Haruko finished fixing the yukata, Makoto got a package from her mother, Keiko. Haruko went over to tell Makoto about the yukata when she finds out that Keiko had sent Makoto a brand new one. She was really shocked but didn't tell Makoto about it. Hiromi and Kaito knew that she was spending long hours sewing the yukata for Makoto so they thought that she must have taken it hard. At night, Kaito stopped by Nagisa to talk to Haruko. Haruko expected one of the two to come. Kaito thought that Haruko should have told Makoto about the yukata but Haruko said, "It's common sense that the kimono from her mother is the better one. Trust me, I know how it feels." She told Kaito that although she wasn't able to give her yukata to Makoto, she was happy that she was able to feel like a true mother while making it. It started raining that day and the fireworks ceremony had to be canceled. Sakura's two friends decided to go back to Tokyo. Before they left, they told Kaito to think about coming back to Tokyo again or Sakura will be left alone. But Kaito had already made that decision a while back and that would never change. Hiromi told Kaito that a man shouldn't make decisions over a woman. No man should let a woman decide for them or be the factor in a decision. At night, Hiromi found out that the rain had stopped. Makoto, on the other hand, was refusing to wear the yukata her mother sent her. Hiromi goes up to Makoto's room to tell her that they were going to do some fireworks outside, just the five of them, and told Makoto to come down wearing the yukata. Makoto didn't want to, but Haruko came up and told her that everyone was waiting to see Makoto in the kimono. Haruko helped Makoto put it on, and she went downstairs for everyone to see. Hiromi called Sakura and told her to listen while Kaito would shoot the firecrackers in the air. He told her that if she looked up at the sky(in Tokyo), she would be able to see the firecrackers with Kaito. Kaito lit the firecracker, and while Sakura was doing her best to try to hear, she started crying. After Kaito finished, Hiromi lit his own firecrackers, and no one expected much, but they turned out to be really beautiful. That was the end of their little fireworks ceremony. - End of Episode Six - |
