ADDENDUM
This argument is, by necessity, over-simplified and one-sided. I'm limited by time and the need to keep people awake, among other things. This is neither to excuse or apologize for any shortcomings. There's no way to write about this stuff WITHOUT over-simplifying. (besides, just because it's oversimplified does mean it's wrong).Plus, rather than anticipating suggested additions/contrary arguments, I thought it'd be better to ask readers to voice them themselves... especially since this section will be continually evolving. So feel free to email me and criticize or expand the argument. Worthwhile comments and responses will be posted in the near future.
