Episode Nine

Haruko gets a letter from Yoshimura, who was the man who threw her away. Haruko's son's father was Yoshimura. He told her that he decided to move to Singapore for his job and wanted Haruko to be able to see her son before they left. Masaru hears this and tells this to Hiromi and Kaito.

Yoshimura arrives with his son. When Haruko last saw Haruki, her son, he was only 1 year old so he didn't remember who she was. He said to his father, "Who is this lady?" Haruko was at a loss for words. But Haruko didn't say that she was his mother. When Makoto heard this, she thought that it was stupid that Haruko didn't tell Haruki that she was his real mother.

Yoshimura tells Haruko to take care of Haruki while he stays at a hotel. Kaito volunteers to take Yoshimura to the hotel. They stop by a coffee shop and Yoshimura tells Kaito that he is an elite businessman. Kaito also says that he used to be an elite businessman. Kaito asks Yoshimura why he didn't tell Haruki that Haruko was his real mother. Yoshimura replied. "I have decided to leave that up to Haruko." Yoshimura said that when he had to choose to either take Haruko or his job, he had to choose his job over her. He said that if he had quit his job, Haruko would have regretted it. Kaito remembered the words of Hiromi that a man shouldn't let a woman make his decisions. Kaito probably felt the same way as Yoshimura, although he felt bad for Haruko.

At night, Hiromi was talking with Kaito in the lobby. Hiromi wanted to do something for Haruko but Kaito thought that there was nothing they could do. Haruko walks in and says, "If you have the time to think about what you can do, why don't you take me(sarcastically)!" Haruko goes up to the guest room where Haruki is and stays there until Haruki falls asleep. She goes back downstairs. Hiromi and Kaito find out that Haruki liked playing in the sand. This gives both of them an idea.

Kaito and Hiromi go back to their room and start designing a ship that they can build with the sand. Makoto looks at the two and is relieved.

The next day, they all start making the ship. But there aren't enough people. So they call Hazuki and the taxi drivers and Makoto's friend and all start working. When the ship is completed, Haruko calls Haruki and he is surprised and happy.

Yoshimura tells Haruki that the lady(Haruko) and everyone else made the ship for him. They find out that Yoshimura didn't tell Haruki about Haruko. But this was the best thing for the both of them.

Haruki tells his father that he wants to leave on a ferry. Haruko cries when seeing Haruki leaving. Hiromi and Kaito were told by Haruko that they couldn't do anything for her, but suddenly, Haruko comes running toward the two. She asks them a favor. They go into a building and climb up to the top where they could see the ocean below. Haruko sees the ferry that Haruki is on and screams, "Your mother is always thinking about you. I love you" and continues to cry. She felt good about doing this as a mother.
