Kaito and Hiromi both returned to Diamondhead, unable to forget about the
place. Hiromi thought that the reason Masaru decided to close down Diamondhead was because
not enough people were coming. But that wasn't the reason. Hiromi called up all of his
friends, but only one came. That one person was Fujiko, who was the girlfriend who threw
him out. She somewhat resembled Hiromi. When Masaru saw her, he automatically knew that
Hiromi had called all his friends up. Fujiko was always the one to spill the beans without
meaning it.
On the other hand, Kaito called up his girlfriend, Sakura, who was worried that he may never return to his company. But Kaito told her not to worry and that he just wanted to take a break. That night, they all had a barbecue party. Fujiko got drunk and started telling everyone about Hiromi. She told everyone that Hiromi used to be an elite swimmer, one of the top in Japan, and that he was about to be in the Olympics. But then she fainted. Hiromi took her inside Diamondhead to lie down. Kaito went inside to get some beer when Fujiko suddenly woke up. She told Kaito that Hiromi should have been in the Olympics, but he got injured and couldn't compete, and that he has been taking a break from life ever since then. This really surprised Kaito because he didn't think that much of Hiromi. And it also resembled the situation with himself, and it was something he thought of doing, taking a break from life. After everyone finished eating, Masaru took out his guitar and started playing a slow tune, which brought down the mood. Makoto started crying and told Masaru that she didn't want to go and that she wanted to stay at Diamondhead forever, and runs back to her room. The next day, while chopping blocks of wood with Hiromi, Kaito tells Masaru that he thinks Makoto should be able to do what she wants since she's not a kid anymore. Masaru thinks about this and talks with Haruko. On the way back from school, Makoto's friend, Yusuke(Kawaoka Daijiro) walks towards Diamondhead to have a talk with Masaru and tells him that Makoto should stay here, but then everyone starts laughing. He gets mad at this, but Haruko says, "We've already finished talking about that". Makoto thought this meant that nothing could be done about the situation. Then Masaru tells Makoto that she should do what she wants. That night, they have a barbecue again, but this time, Masaru made the food. Kaito gets a phone call, and is surprised to hear it's his boss, who tells him to come back to Tokyo. Although Kaito doesn't want to leave yet, he tells Hiromi that he will be leaving for Tokyo tomorrow. - End of Episode Two - |
